Maui Guided Chocolate Tours

In partnership with Kū‘ía Estate, Hawai‘i Farm Project offers a variety of Maui Chocolate Tours.

Travellers taking a short flight over to the island of Maui for a day trip or part of their multi-island holiday can experience “farm to bar” at an esteemed chocolate factory and cacao farm located in the western part of the island of Lāhainā. This is the perfect way to celebrate any occasion. From birthdays to anniversaries and other major milestones, these tours offer a fun, unique and memorable way to make your special day feel extraordinary.

Private cacao estate

Take a journey through this private cacao estate of 8.09 hectares nestled in the foothills of the West Maui mountains.  With its humble beginnings, what began as planting cacao as part of a university’s field trial to determine what growing conditions were suitable for cacao, led to the first cacao plantings and blessings occurring in the 2013 winter solstice and now a sprawling farm with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and the largest chocolate factory in the state of Hawaii

Cacao Farm Tour & Treehouse Lunch tour

Perfect for an island-hopping day trip or a midday excursion while on the island of Maui, the Cacao Farm Tour & Treehouse Lunch tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at how chocolate is grown, harvested and crafted on Maui. Guests will experience a curated tasting of the award-winning chocolate, followed by a delicious lunch from Kapena’s Kitchen, served in their open-air treehouse tucked within the canopy. The peaceful setting and locally made lunch offers a unique experience and a chance to enjoy the surrounding nature.

Farm and Feast Experience

For those looking to celebrate a special occasion or anniversary, the Farm and Feast Experience begins at the Ku’ia Estates Chocolate Factory in Lahaina, then takes you through the private cacao estates to introduce you to their cacao trees, the hands-on fruit harvesting techniques and finishes with an exclusive 9-piece tasting of their award-winning chocolate. After the tour, the experience continues with an exquisite dinner, featuring a curated menu at Sale Pepe, completing the culinary tour.

Hawai‘i Agritourism

These Maui Chocolate Tours in partnership with Kū‘ía Estate are part of Hawai‘i Farm Project’s overall rich history of conducting agricultural tours on the island of Maui, with their widely popular tours, including the Maui Pineapple Tour in Hāliʻimaile. They aim to raise awareness about agri-tourism and farming in Hawai’i and look forward to welcoming you to experience the unique agricultural aspects of the Hawaiian Islands.
