Norwegian Cruise Lines’ ship Pride of America

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is the only major line to offer year-round island-hopping cruises in Hawai’i, offering the opportunity to visit four Hawaiian Islands in seven days with its award-winning inter-island round-trip itinerary. Pride of America sails from Honolulu every Saturday, with cruises available to book through to 2025. The itinerary includes overnight stays in Maui and Kaua’i, with no sea days.

Pride of America offers experiences for children of all ages. Kids aged three to 12 can enjoy a range of activities at NCL’s kids’ club, Splash Academy, which has a kids’ pool, cinema and outdoor chess board. Teenagers can hang out at Entourage, which is designed for 13 to 17-year-olds and features a jukebox, dance floor, air hockey and table football.

Whilst on board, families can also immerse themselves in Hawaiian culture, with offerings such as hula lessons, lei-making classes and Hawaiian language classes run by the ship’s cultural ambassador.

Adventure, wildlife encounters & cultural experiences

More than 70 shore excursions are available – many with discounted rates for kids. There’s something to suit every family (and family member!), whether they are looking for adventure, wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, water activities, shopping or sightseeing.

On Maui, families can see colourful coral reefs and tropical fish on the Lāna‘i Snorkel Sail shore excursion – and maybe even spot dolphins, turtles or monk seals. On island of Hawai‘i, visit waterfalls, rainforests and beaches in the region north of Hilo on the Secrets of Hāmākua shore excursion, and see tropical fish and coral on a glass bottom boat tour off the coast of Kona. On Kaua‘i, enjoy a Hawaiian feast and cultural performance at the Lū‘au Kalamakū.

There are also lots of family-friendly restaurants to dine on board, including American eatery Cadillac Diner, the buffet Aloha Café and pool bar Key West Bar & Grill.
